About This Site

GoEarthstone is an independent informational resource about recycled-glass cleaning and sanding blocks, eco-friendly home care, and backyard grilling. We are not a store, and we are not affiliated with any manufacturer, brand or retailer. Nothing on this site is offered for sale.

Why This Site Exists

In the early 2000s this domain hosted the consumer website of a pioneering New Mexico company that turned recycled glass bottles into pumice-like cleaning blocks. That site did two things unusually well. First, it explained an inventive green material - white foamed glass - in clear, honest language. Second, it surrounded its grill-cleaning guides with a genuinely useful library of grilling knowledge: cooking methods, time and temperature charts, marinade formulas and dozens of recipes.

When the original company was acquired and its web presence moved on, those guides disappeared from the live web, surviving only in scattered snapshots at the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. We restored them here - lightly edited, updated where the facts have moved on, and stripped of the original commerce - because the information remains as practical today as the day it was written.

Two Causes: Your Time and Your Environment

The original site described its mission as working hard for two causes: your time, and your environment. That framing still guides every page here. Recycled-glass blocks earn their place in a toolbox by working faster than the conventional alternative - faster than wire brushes on a grill, faster than sandpaper on rough lumber, faster than scouring pads on a burnt pan. And they earn their place in a greener household by doing it without chemicals: non-toxic, fume-free, and safe around kids and pets, made almost entirely from glass that would otherwise sit in a landfill.

Editorial Standards

Restored text is preserved faithfully wherever possible. Where we add new material - background, context, safety guidance - we cite authoritative sources such as the EPA, USDA and other public institutions. Historical product claims (for example, "cleans four times faster than a wire brush") are reported as the original manufacturer's claims, not as our own test results. If you spot an error, please let us know.
