About This Site
GoEarthstone is an independent informational resource about recycled-glass cleaning and sanding blocks, eco-friendly home care, and backyard grilling. We are not a store, and we are not affiliated with any manufacturer, brand or retailer. Nothing on this site is offered for sale.
Why This Site Exists
In the early 2000s a pioneering New Mexico company turned recycled glass bottles into pumice-like cleaning blocks. It explained an inventive green material - white foamed glass - in clear, honest language and surrounded its grill-cleaning guides with a genuinely useful library of grilling knowledge: cooking methods, time and temperature charts, marinade formulas and dozens of recipes.
Two Causes: Your Time and Your Environment
The company described its mission as working hard for two causes: your time, and your environment. Recycled-glass blocks earn their place in a toolbox by working faster than the conventional alternative - faster than wire brushes on a grill, faster than sandpaper on rough lumber, faster than scouring pads on a burnt pan. And they earn their place in a greener household by doing it without chemicals: non-toxic, fume-free, and safe around kids and pets, made almost entirely from glass that would otherwise sit in a landfill.
What You Will Find Here
- Material guides - what foamed glass is and how it is made.
- Usage guides - how to clean grills, pool tile, kitchens and baths, and how to sand and strip with glass-foam blocks, including the tips pages for each product family in the product guide.
- The grilling library - the complete collection of methods, charts, marinades and recipes.
- History - the story of the company that started it all, and the environmental philosophy that drove it.
Editorial Standards
The guides distinguish period material from added background, context and safety guidance, citing authoritative sources such as the EPA, USDA and other public institutions. Historical product claims (for example, "cleans four times faster than a wire brush") are reported as the manufacturer's claims, not as our own test results. The resource page points to the main sections.
